VISION AND MISSION
Vision
The IT Education Program of the St. Paul Educational System
is a responsive course of study, globally recognized in
the formation of Christian IT professionals, committed to
the application of innovative solutions in order to meet
the IT requirements of the changing times and the promotion
of the interests of the various stakeholders.
Mission
- Continually re-aligning the course of study with the
changing demands of the various stakeholders;
- Developing and maintaining Paulinian instruction to
the highest standards of quality;
- Developing linkages among and between the IT programs
within and outside the system
OBJECTIVES OF THE COLLEGE
The College of Engineering and Information Technology,
in pursuit of quality Catholic education, aims to produce
responsible and competent IT professionals who are aware
of their social and moral duties to society. It aspires
to respond to the growing need for computer professionals
in industry, government, and academic institutions.
Specifically, the College aims to produce competent and
value-laden professionals who can develop systems supportive
of the information needs of industry; to explore the use
of computers for real-time processing; to adapt hardware
technologies to third world realities; and to develop individuals
who will undertake the search for new knowledge and its
application to Philippine realities. it endeavors to:
- develop students to become competent programmers, systems
analysts, computer trainers, computer consultants, internet
administrators, software application users, and other
IT-related jobs, who will contribute to the country's
development effort in the field of information technology
towards the 21st century and onwards;
- produce competent and committed graduates imbued with
the necessary knowledge, skills and values demanded of
the Information Technology profession and who are aware
of their social and moral responsibilities to society;
- train students to become Christian leaders and believers
who live faith through constant witnessing and exercise
of professional competence and dedication in his field
of endeavor.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
1984 - First Computer Laboratory was installed in
SNC
1989 - CS as a major for BSC. Computer Laboratory
transferred to the Ground Floor of the Grade School Bldg.
1990 - CS changed to CIS per CHED recommendation
1991 - Computer classes included in HS 3 & 4
curriculum
1993 - CS as a baccalaureate degree. Computer Laboratory
transferred to Ground Floor of St. Paul Bldg. First JOCV
Volunteer, Toshihide Harada came to SNC
1994 - Computer Laboratory II installed in the Second
Floor of the St. Paul Building. Second Japanese Volunteer,
Daisuke Tatekawa, came in place of Toshi. LAN-based instruction
was used.
1996 - Another Computer Laboratory was installed
in the Second Floor of the St. Paul Building. Third Japanese
Volunteer, Takahiro Moriya came in place of Duke.
1997 - Computer classes were held for GS 5 &
6 and in all levels in HS. First batch BSCS students graduated.
A two-year Computer Technology program was offered.
1999 - The BSCS program was granted Government Recognition
No. 143, s. 1999. Internet was launched in SNC.
2000 - New Computer Laboratories were installed
in the new Our Lady of Chartres Building.
2001 - New programs - - BSCoE & BSIT-IS &
IM were offered.
